Wife Gripes: How the Devil Swayed My Wife

When Doubt Opens the Door

Yes, clearly the devil swayed her to think those evil thoughts.

When we doubt, we welcome the evil spirit — we invite the evil one — and in doing so, we make the thought of God absent from our minds.

But how does one truly practice faith unless one lives it?
Are we so foolish as to think that mercy will come if we live on the opposite side of where God is?

If we are not for Him and His ways, then who are we for?

Letting Go of the Old Self

When we say our lives have changed because we have experienced God, why do we keep bringing back the old ways that once separated us from Him?

Jesus said, “Let the dead bury the dead.”
He meant that to worry about the dead is in vain.

If we believe in the true God, we know that in His Kingdom there is no death — there is only life!

Our beloved departed are alive, not dead.
The things of this world, however, are dead because they will not be with us when we die.
The things that are dead are those absent of life, absent of God.

Where Jesus Is, There Is Life Eternal

Let us contemplate this truth deeply:
Where Jesus is — there is life eternal.

We need to start following Jesus and His ways so that we may be welcomed into His Kingdom.
Let us not allow worry to overcome our faith in God, but rather, let faith cradle us in divine hope and mercy.

Let us start anew — with an attitude fit for heaven and not the characteristics of the unholy.

Love, Not Hate

Let us always remember — God said to love!
He did not say to hate, to pester, to distrust, to doubt, to provoke over nonsense, or to worry about the insignificant.

As believers in God, we know we are all far from perfect — but perfection begins with the change that happens in the imperfect.

God’s perfection is fulfilled when the duality of perfect and imperfect is united within one’s life experience.

A Daily Reminder of Goodness

In this life, it is easy to forget what we’ve been taught.
That’s why it is essential to our salvation that we remind ourselves daily of God’s love and His message to us.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are honest,
whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.”

Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

Fill your day with what is good — and good will come of it.

Reflection

When we keep our hearts and minds fixed on what is good, pure, and true, the devil’s whispers lose their power.
Doubt fades, faith strengthens, and love — God’s love — becomes the very air we breathe.
