Why Should I Be Afraid of Death?

✝️ A Reflection on John 14 : 1-6 (KJV)
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.”
— John 14 : 1-2 KJV
🕊️ Do Not Be Afraid — Have Faith
Jesus tells us not to be afraid but to have faith.
He reminds us that if we believe in God, we must also believe in Him.
He has prepared a dwelling place for us in His Father’s house — a home eternal, not built by human hands but promised by divine love.
If we truly believe in Jesus, then death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life.
He conquered death by His resurrection, proving that death holds no power over Him — and therefore, no power over those who believe.
🌅 The Conqueror of Death
No one else has done what Jesus did.
He rose from the grave, victorious over sin and death itself.
That alone gives every believer the assurance that through Him, we too have conquered death.
So why, then, do we fear it?
Perhaps because we are human — frail, uncertain, prone to fear what we cannot see or understand.
But God, in His mercy, knows our limitations.
He has already told us how to make things right: believe and follow His Word.
💭 The Human Struggle
I ask myself, “Lord, why do I fail to follow You always?”
Is it because I was born a sinner, prone to mistakes and failures?
Yes — but this is exactly why I need You, Lord.
Your death gave me eternal life.
Your grace saves me from sin.
Your resurrection gives me hope.
Your promise gives me purpose.
🌈 My Eternal Acceptance
Because You conquered death, You have conquered my fears.
Because You live, I have hope.
Because You have prepared a place for me, I now accept Your invitation fully —
with joy, faith, and gratitude.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
— John 3 : 16 KJV
All glory to You, Lord — and to You alone!
May my life be a living testimony of Your love and my eternity a song of worship forevermore.
🙏 Final Thought
Do not be afraid — for Jesus saves.
Death is but a doorway; faith is the key;
and Jesus, the risen Savior, is the light waiting on the other side.
