Does Jesus Live In You… Or Do You Just Believe In Him?
Jesus said something that should stop every one of us in our tracks:
“Abide in me… and I in you.” — John 15:4
That’s not just a comforting statement.
That’s a condition.
Because Jesus is telling us something very real:
If you want what I have…
You must stay connected to Me.
Do You Want What Jesus Has?
Let me ask you something honestly…
Do you want:
- The peace that doesn’t break under pressure?
- The love that forgives even when it hurts?
- The patience that endures?
- The compassion that sees beyond faults?
Everyone says yes.
But here’s the truth…
You don’t get the life of Jesus
without the presence of Jesus living in you.
Abiding Is Not Occasional
Most people treat Jesus like a moment.
- A prayer when things go wrong
- A thought on Sunday
- A quick “thank you” when things go right
But Jesus didn’t say:
“Visit me…”
He said:
“Abide in me.”
That means:
Stay.
Remain.
Live there.
So Let Me Ask You Straight
Does Jesus live with you?
Not in theory.
Not in belief alone.
But in your daily thoughts?
- Do you think about Him like you think about people you love?
- Do you bring Him into your decisions?
- Do you hear His voice through His Word before you act?
Or…
Is He someone you remember when it’s convenient?
The Truth Most Don’t Want to Face
You cannot live like the world
and expect the fruit of Christ.
Jesus made it clear:
“Without me… you can do nothing.” — John 15:5
Not “a little.”
Not “less.”
Nothing of eternal value.
The First Commandment Still Stands
Jesus reminded us what matters most:
“Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, soul, and mind.”
Not part-time.
Not when you feel like it.
All.
Final Thought
If you truly want the peace of Jesus…
the love of Jesus…
the life of Jesus…
Then it’s not about trying harder.
It’s about letting Him live in you fully.
Because the branch doesn’t struggle to produce fruit…
It simply stays connected to the vine.
