✝️ Do We Truly Believe in Jesus? or Just say That We Do?
“Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” — Matthew 16:25
🌿 Introduction
Many people say they believe in Jesus, yet still live weighed down by fear, doubt, and self-reliance. True belief is more than words—it is revealed through trust, obedience, and surrender. This reflection invites us to examine whether our faith in Jesus Christ is something we profess only with our lips, or something we truly live out in our daily lives.
If we say yes, that we believe in Jesus —
then why do we still live in a world where loss continues to weigh heavily on our hearts?
If we truly believe that Christ is all we need,
then why do we concern ourselves so deeply with the things that are merely natural —
our possessions, our worries, our daily troubles?
Faith in Christ should lead us beyond fear, beyond anxiety, and into complete trust in God’s care.
💔 The Nature of Loss
Loss is inevitable.
Whether it’s a person, a dream, or a cherished possession, a loss is still a loss.
But God reminds us not to be consumed by these things,
for our time on this earth is short.
Instead, let us spend the remainder of our lives hoping for good things,
rather than mourning what has been taken.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6–7
When we lose something, we can choose to reflect on the joy it once brought,
rather than the emptiness that remains.
Dwelling on what is lost invites worry and pressure —
a silent killer worse than any physical ailment.
That is why Saint Paul encourages us to “think on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.” (Philippians 4:8)
🙏 Trusting God Completely
If we truly have God with us,
shouldn’t we also believe that He will protect us from the unthinkable?
We must start relying on God in every aspect of our lives, for this is what He desires.
When we surrender our lives to Him,
we place Him in charge — and it becomes His responsibility to care for us.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Christ said, “Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
By giving our lives to Him, we gain peace, purpose, and eternal life.
🌞 Christians Should Be the Happiest People
If we truly believe that Christ is with us in times of trouble,
then we should be the most joyful people on earth.
Even in sorrow, our faith should remind us that nothing can stand against us when Christ lives in us.
Yes, we are sinners — but humility keeps us close to His mercy.
Without God, we can do nothing; with Him, we can do all things.
Our assurance of salvation lies not in what we do, but in whom we trust.
🙌 A Prayer of Surrender
Lord, guide us and make us Your instruments of truth.
Let Your light shine through us so others may come to believe.
Replace our worries with hope, our fears with faith,
and our anxieties with Your peace.Let Your power reign within us,
that we may glorify and worship You forever.Amen.
✨ Final Thought
If Christ truly lives in us,
then we need not fear what is lost —
for what we have gained in Him is eternal.
In what ways is God inviting you to move from saying you believe to truly living out your faith?
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father.” — Matthew 7:21
