Who Is “I Am”?

A Reflection on Identity, Judgment, and Divine Image

So, I am who you think I am.
But now, who really is “I Am”?

You say I am stupid.
You say I am an idiot.
You say I am a dumbhead.
You say I am an asshole.
You say I am no good — but neither are you.
For Jesus said, “No one is good except the Father.”

You say I am ugly, and you regret who I am.
But have you ever stopped to ask — who is “I Am”?

The True “I Am”

The first “I Am” is God Himself.
When Moses asked His name, God replied,

“I AM WHO I AM.” — Exodus 3:14

And because He created me in His image,
I too refer to myself as “I am” — not out of pride,
but out of recognition that I am of His creation.

To call God’s creation stupid, worthless, or ugly
is to insult the Creator Himself.
We may act foolishly at times,
but our identity — our being — remains divine in origin.

The Power of Second Chances

We are living in a time of mercy and grace
a season of second chances.
It’s alright not to respect someone’s wrong actions,
but we must always respect the person.
Why? Because that person bears the fingerprint of God.

Does God make mistakes?
Of course not.
He gives us chance after chance to make things right.
As Jesus taught:

“Forgive not seven times, but seventy times seven.” — Matthew 18:22

If God forgives us endlessly,
can we not forgive each other at least a few times?

The Journey Toward Eternity

Let us begin now — to forgive, to love,
to see one another as God’s creation.
Let us stop calling each other names
and start calling each other children of God.

For when we do,
we step closer to the life that God desires for us —
a life of peace, compassion, and eternal joy in His presence.

A Closing Prayer

Lord,
Help me to see You in others,
even when their actions are hard to understand.
Teach me to separate the deed from the soul,
to forgive as You forgive,
and to love as You love.
Let my words build, not destroy;
let my “I am” reflect the great “I AM.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
