🌤️ HOW MUCH TIME FOR GOD?
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
— Psalm 90:12 (KJV)
Introduction
If you’re like me, you probably work five days a week—and in those five days, eight to twelve hours are spent working.
Since there are only twenty-four hours in a day, by the time we account for sleep, family time, entertainment, and daily responsibilities, there’s often very little left.
So at the end of the day, when we take stock of all the hours we’ve spent on these things, we must ask ourselves:
How much time do we have left for God?
A Question Worth Asking
With the little time that remains in our day, how do we choose to spend it?
Is it with family?
Is it in self-indulgence or social entertainment?
Or is it on the things that truly matter the most—our faith, our relationship with God, and the health of our soul?
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.”
— Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
The Reality of Time
It doesn’t take a genius to realize that this life of ours is very short.
God gave some trees and animals longer lifespans than ours—perhaps because He wanted to preserve certain parts of His creation.
But for humankind, whose history is marked by both creation and destruction, our time is brief by design.
Our days are numbered so that we may learn to value them.
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?
It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
— James 4:14 (KJV)
The Eternal Perspective
The bottom line is simple: life is short.
And since it is, wouldn’t it be wiser to spend it preparing for the One with whom we will dwell for eternity?
There’s no doubt—if one truly thinks about tomorrow and understands what’s at stake, he would not for a second ignore the reality of the eternal.
It would be sheer foolishness to do so.
Living Every Breath with God
Let God be present in every breath of our lives.
For with Him, what is right will always be right—
and what is wrong can never be.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
— Colossians 3:17 (KJV)
đź’ Final Reflection
We live in borrowed time—every heartbeat is a gift, every breath a chance to draw closer to the One who gave it.
Even five minutes a day with God is not wasted—it’s an eternal investment.
🕊️ Make time for God today—because tomorrow isn’t promised, but eternity is.
