🌪️ Temptation in Play
A Reflection on Trials, Forgiveness, and Salvation
🧩 Another Day of Test
Today is another day of test and trial — another moment of temptation in play.
Call it a tribulation, a storm, or a battle for your soul — whatever the name, it isn’t pretty!
The devil is relentless, and often, he uses those dearest to our hearts to pierce our peace.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
But even in the midst of this, I cry out:
“God, forgive me for my sins, as I forgive those who sin against me.”
(Matthew 6:12)
That single act of forgiveness — sincerely done — can move a soul from damnation to salvation.
❤️ Forgiveness and Mercy
When we learn to forgive and to consider others with compassion, our lives begin to overflow with mercy and blessing.
Jesus promised:
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”
— Matthew 5:7 (KJV)
So why wait?
Our time is short — we do not have forever to correct our mistakes.
The quicker we begin to live God’s Word, the greater our chance to receive His mercy.
“Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
🌿 Faith in Action
The only way to truly see God is to draw Him close.
We must learn of Him, walk with Him, and obey His voice.
Half-belief is not enough — we must believe fully.
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
— John 15:7 (KJV)
To abide in Him means to live in Him, and when we do, He lives in us.
What a beautiful promise from the Lord Himself!
⏰ The Danger of Delay
But when do these promises begin to manifest in our lives?
We keep saying, “Tomorrow — I still have time!”
Yet, tomorrow is not guaranteed.
“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
— Proverbs 27:1 (KJV)
Those who continue to ignore the Gospel may one day find themselves left out of the Kingdom feast.
Will God not be disappointed to see that we declined His invitation?
🔥 Two Destinations
Eternal life has two rooms — one above, and one below.
Heaven above for those who believe, hell below for those who reject His mercy.
“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
— Matthew 25:46 (KJV)
The devil doesn’t come with horns and pitchforks; he comes through temptation, anger, pride, and deceit.
We must ask ourselves daily:
Which direction am I heading — up or down?
😔 A Generation of “INs”
Sadly, the world has become full of “INs”:
- Inconsiderate
- Ingrate
- Indifferent
- Incompassionate
- Influenced by anger
- Insubordinate
- Intoxicated
- Insensitive
- Inhospitable
- Intentionally blind
Each “IN” pushes us further away from God, not closer.
But Christ calls us to turn those “INs” into “WITHs” —
to walk with love, with mercy, with humility, and with Him.
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.”
— James 4:8 (KJV)
🙏 Final Reflection
Jesus went through unimaginable suffering to save us from sin.
Let us not make a mockery of His sacrifice by ignoring it.
Let us instead thank Him through obedience — through faith in action.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
— John 3:16 (KJV)
💡 Closing Thought
Temptation will always be in play — but so is God’s grace.
And grace always wins when we let Christ live within us.
